Balance your Water Your Swimming Pool needs attention even during the winter. Before you prepare your pool for winter make sure you test your water and add the appropriate chemicals one last time. This will ensure everything is well balanced and properly maintained throughout the cold months ahead. It will also make things easier come next summer.  

Put your Pool Equipment Away
Make sure to put all your pool equipment away and free from the elements. So get your brush, net, pole, and most importantly your pool toys and get them out of the cold weather. I recommend placing them in the garage if possible. This will help protect your equipment from freezing. By doing this easy step you can ensure your equipment will last as long as possible. Nobody wants to start the swim season without their toys and equipment.  

Cover your Swimming Pool In extreme cases you might want to cover your pool. This will help to keep your pool water from freezing overnight. By covering your pool you can help avoid cracks in the concrete, decking, or tile. Again, this is in extreme cases where the water will freeze, but there is no such thing as over preparing
